Getting A Summer Internship With a Multi-Million Dollar Concrete Company

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alex Llamas. I am a student at California State University, Chico, majoring in Concrete Industry Management. The CIM Patron group supports the CIM program with substantial funding as well as provides internships and other learning opportunities. The Patrons are typically CEO's of companies who have committed to supporting the program because they see the need for many new employees for the concrete industry. The Concrete Industry Management program gets students ready for management and other types of positions in all types of companies. There are five universities across the nation that offer the CIM degree. Every year, in order to help students find internships and jobs, the CIM program sends a group of their students to Las Vegas for the World of Concrete. That is where I got my summer internship with a Company that paid me $750 a week to work for them during the summer. The company constructs dams and water resource world-wide and put me to work in all departments of the company. Because of the internship experience, I now have a job available with that company after graduation. Below is just a little something I was able to be a part of. Enjoy!

  1. Internships are the way to go if you want the experience to go along with your education. The blasting looks like fun!
